How do I place an order?

You can browse ready-to-purchase products directly on the website or submit a Custom Print & Design Request if you have a specific project in mind. Once I review your request, I'll contact you with any questions and provide a personalized quote if applicable.

How do custom orders work?

Every custom project starts with a conversation.

  1. Submit a Custom Print & Design Request.

  2. I'll review your project details.

  3. If I need additional information, I'll reach out by email.

  4. You'll receive a quote before any work begins.

  5. Once approved, your project enters production.

Can you print my STL file?

Absolutely! If you already have a printable STL, 3MF, OBJ, or similar file, I'd be happy to print it. If any adjustments are needed before printing, I'll let you know and discuss your options.

Can you design something from scratch?

Yes! Whether you have a sketch, reference photos, or just an idea, I can help turn it into a printable model. Original design work is quoted separately from printing and will always be discussed before any work begins.

What materials do you print with?

Most products are printed in high-quality PLA, which offers excellent detail and durability for everyday use. PETG and TPU may also be available for projects that require additional strength, flexibility, or heat resistance.

If you're unsure which material is best, I'll gladly recommend one based on your project.

Can I choose the color?

In most cases, yes! I keep a variety of filament colors in stock, and additional colors may be available upon request. If you have a specific color in mind, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate it.

Are layer lines normal?

Yes. Layer lines are a natural characteristic of FDM 3D printing and are part of the manufacturing process. Every print is produced using carefully tuned settings to achieve the best possible finish, but slight cosmetic variations are normal and are not considered defects.

How long will my order take?

Production times vary depending on the complexity of your project, current workload, and material availability. Estimated turnaround times will be included with your quote, and I'll keep you updated throughout the process if anything changes.

Do you ship outside Missouri?

Yes! Orders can be shipped throughout the United States. Shipping costs are calculated based on the size, weight, and destination of your order.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes! Local pickup is available in the Joplin, Missouri area by appointment.

How do I care for my 3D printed item?

Most products require very little maintenance.

For best results:

  • Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water.

  • Dry with a soft cloth.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat (particularly PLA products).

  • Do not place PLA products in the dishwasher unless specifically stated.

Following these recommendations will help your print look its best for years to come.

Can I leave my print in a hot car?

It's not recommended. Most products are printed in PLA, which can begin to soften at temperatures commonly reached inside parked vehicles during warm weather. To prevent warping or deformation, avoid leaving PLA prints in hot cars or near heat sources.

If your project will be exposed to higher temperatures, let me know. A different material may be a better choice.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged during shipping, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the damaged item and packaging. I'll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Can you print copyrighted or licensed models?

Yes—but only if you have the legal right to have them printed.

By submitting files, you confirm that you own the files or have permission from the designer or copyright holder to reproduce them. FlatLine 3D respects intellectual property rights and reserves the right to decline any request that may infringe upon copyright, trademark, patent, licensing terms, or other protected rights.

Do you sell digital files?

No. FlatLine 3D specializes in physical 3D printed products and custom design services. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, digital model files (STLs, 3MFs, CAD files, etc.) are not included with your purchase.
